Happy New Year!!

Winter is definitely here in full force this year. A few snowfalls, bitterly cold days, lots of wind. Downright brutal so far. Please, please, please be sure you are staying warm and are dressing appropriately.

Please join us this weekend – we’d love to have you over on Saturday! This past week Cub Scout Pack 462 got together and put together 462 special meal bags. These will be available Saturday in addition to, our regular shopping bags.

Cub Scout Pack 462 met on MLK Day 2025 to prepare packaged, shelf-stable meals – complete with recipes! Thank you Pack 462!!

We will be open for our regular service day on 1-25-25. There may be cold weather in the forecast, but please continue obey all parking signs and driveways of those who live on Brookline Blvd. There is limited parking directly in front of the church and we ask that you please respect our neighbors. There is additional parking available at the park behind the church – though you will need to walk a block on Earlington to get to the doors.

TLC Pantry Guidelines:

  • shoppers will be escorted through the pantry by one of our volunteers to fill their food bags
  • if you have re-usable bags from previously, please bring them
  • order of shopping is based on order of arrival – numbers will be handed out at the check-in desk. please be courteous and respectful of one another

Looking forward to seeing you Saturday!

MLK Service Day – Chestnutwold Elementary

What a day!! We at TLC were blessed to partner with the Chestnutwold PTO on Martin Luther King Day (1/15/18) to offer multiple service opportunities. Special thanks to Tara Klick for organizing such a wonderful group of people!

Project #1: Sorting through donations to restock the pantry and to organize the inventory room. New storage tubs donated by Home Depot – Marple #4181.

Project #2: Building ‘Just-In-Case’ bags. These are pre-made bags designed to fit in your glove box or under a car seat for the times when you may come across someone in need. They contain food, utensils, a can opener, toiletries, and a note of support. If you’d like some bags for your car, please email for arrangements!

Project #3: Building new shelf units for the inventory room. Four new units donated by Lowe’s Havertown – #3169.

Thank you to the 127 volunteers who shared their time and talents with us! You are welcome back anytime!!
