Special November 2025 Service Date: Hot Meal, Food Shopping, Toy Bazaar – 11/22/25 Doors Open at 12:30; Service 1:00 – 2:30p

Hello Friends!

If we’re being honest, it has been a CRAZY past few weeks given all the uncertainty over SNAP and associated benefits. We are grateful to hear that by all accounts, benefits are being restored. With any luck, they’ll be back in place by the time this email comes out.

Amazingly, we are already up to the holiday season as well! (How in the world did that happen so quickly?!?!) This means that one of our most fun service days of the year is also upon us. If you have been with us for a while, you know what’s coming. However, if you are either new to TLC or have not been with us over previous holidays, we have a extra treat for you!!

  1. As we do every month, routine ‘shopping’ will occur
  2. The Youth Group at Temple Lutheran will prepare and serve our special Thanksgiving meal (menu is being put together later tonight;-)
  3. The TLC ‘Toy Bazaar’ returns for it’s 9th year! You’ll have the opportunity to select a gift (maybe two) for any children in your family and have it wrapped for you by our team!

Doors will open at 12 pm. Remember, no line formation until 11:30 am, no illegal parking (blocking driveways), no tying bags on the railing, and no entering the building early (admittance must be from a pantry team member). There is limited parking directly in front of the church and we ask that you please respect our neighbors. Thank you!!

TLC Pantry Guidelines:

  • shoppers will be escorted through the pantry by one of our volunteers to fill their food bags
  • if you have re-usable bags from previously, please bring them
  • order of shopping is based on order of arrival – numbers will be handed out at the check-in desk. please be courteous and respectful of one another
  • cutting the line or not following the guideline above may result in being moved to the back of the line

We can’t wait to see you on Saturday — come for the food, stay for the community!

Thanksgiving 2023

It felt a lot like “old times” at the TLC Food Pantry this past Saturday (11-25-23). The first time in quite a few years we held our traditional, hot holiday meal. The COVID pandemic prevented this annual event since ‘way back’ in 2019. It felt quite special to be able to resurrect this special part of the holidays for everyone involved.

Meal prep Tim J. style

The incredible spread you see above was orchestrated by Head Chef – Pastor Tim. He ran a tight kitchen and was assisted by Youth members of both Temple Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran in Havertown, PA. Our youth help to prepare, serve, shop, and of course clean up during the course of the day.

Youth members help setup and serve in Fellowship Hall

In addition to the meal and food shopping, we were also blessed to be able to setup our ‘Christmas Bazaar’ toy tables again. Friends were able to pick up items for children in their family/household to share over the coming winter holiday(s). Plus, we had some professional wrappers on hand to make sure they’re ready to go for the big day!

We were fortunate to have two large toy tables to choose from this year

All of us at TLC want to offer a HUGE, heartfelt thank you to all of our Mission Partners, Community Volunteers, and Youth Leaders who helped to prepare for this event and for stepping up to make it one to remember!

Can we wrap that for you? What stylish paper would you like;-)?

Our next regular service date is scheduled for Saturday, 12-23-25 from 1:00 – 2:30(ish). If you might be struggling with food scarcity or know someone who is, please come on over. You can also reach us by email at pantry@templelutheran.org.
