Happy Holidays!!

Whether you celebrate Christmas, Channukah, Kwanza, or something else, we hope you are having a lovely holiday season. However you spend this time, may it be filled with Peace, Love, and Joy.

If you are not traveling this weekend, we’d love to see you this Saturday. We will be open for our regular service day on 12-28-24. The weather forecast looks like it could be wet. We will try to get the doors open as soon as we can, but please be patient. (The church has a lot happening this time of year and is also host to a number of various community groups).

Please also obey all parking signs and driveways of those who live on Brookline Blvd. There is limited parking directly in front of the church and we ask that you please respect our neighbors. There is additional parking available at the park behind the church.

TLC Pantry Guidelines:

  • shoppers will be escorted through the pantry by one of our volunteers to fill their food bags
  • if you have re-usable bags from previously, please bring them
  • order of shopping is based on order of arrival – numbers will be handed out at the check-in desk. please be courteous and respectful of one another

Looking forward to seeing you Saturday!

Thanksgiving 2023

It felt a lot like “old times” at the TLC Food Pantry this past Saturday (11-25-23). The first time in quite a few years we held our traditional, hot holiday meal. The COVID pandemic prevented this annual event since ‘way back’ in 2019. It felt quite special to be able to resurrect this special part of the holidays for everyone involved.

Meal prep Tim J. style

The incredible spread you see above was orchestrated by Head Chef – Pastor Tim. He ran a tight kitchen and was assisted by Youth members of both Temple Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran in Havertown, PA. Our youth help to prepare, serve, shop, and of course clean up during the course of the day.

Youth members help setup and serve in Fellowship Hall

In addition to the meal and food shopping, we were also blessed to be able to setup our ‘Christmas Bazaar’ toy tables again. Friends were able to pick up items for children in their family/household to share over the coming winter holiday(s). Plus, we had some professional wrappers on hand to make sure they’re ready to go for the big day!

We were fortunate to have two large toy tables to choose from this year

All of us at TLC want to offer a HUGE, heartfelt thank you to all of our Mission Partners, Community Volunteers, and Youth Leaders who helped to prepare for this event and for stepping up to make it one to remember!

Can we wrap that for you? What stylish paper would you like;-)?

Our next regular service date is scheduled for Saturday, 12-23-25 from 1:00 – 2:30(ish). If you might be struggling with food scarcity or know someone who is, please come on over. You can also reach us by email at pantry@templelutheran.org.
