Summer is winding down and the busyness of fall is right around the corner. School starting often marks the start of a more structured time of year for most of us. However, that doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy the tail end of August first!

Please join us this Saturday. Feel free to bring a friend, neighbor, or anyone who might benefit from a few hours with us. As we shared in the notice from last week – please pay attention to parking and use the lot for the park (behind the church). Thank you.

Do NOT block Resident spots or driveways.

Routine food shopping includes:

  • shoppers will be escorted through the pantry by one of our volunteers to fill their food bags (if you have re-usable bags, please bring them with you)
  • order of shopping is based on order of arrival – numbers will be handed out at the check-in desk. please be courteous and respectful of one another

Friends – we are certainly in the heat of summer right now!! Seems as if we have not gotten even a few days of relief recently. Hopefully you have found a way to stay cool – while also enjoying all the fun things that summer has to offer.

If you are around and not traveling this weekend, we would love to have you join us this Saturday. Feel free to bring a friend, neighbor, or anyone who might benefit from a few hours with us.

Friends – my apologies this notice is so late this month! My hope is that you already had the date marked on your calendars.

We have been in contact with some of the other pantries in the area and are expecting some new visitors to join us this weekend. We have plenty of stock on the shelves, so please don’t worry about that (if you were). Otherwise, if the chance arises, please welcome them and let them know about your experience(s) at TLC Food Pantry;-)

The above quote says it best – especially over the past couple of weeks. Sometimes hot, sometimes hold. Regardless, definitely signs that true spring is on the way! When it is nice out, we hope you’re getting outside to enjoy the sunshine.

If you have been with us for a while, particularly before COVID, you will have noticed that we are not as busy as we have been. We’re actively trying to get the word out, but if you know of anyone who could use some food help, please bring them with you this weekend. Or be sure to let them know where/when to find us.

With any luck, perhaps we’ve seen the last snow of the year already and from here out, we can begin the transition toward spring. Football season is over, baseball is still a few weeks away, and it won’t be long until we can be back outside enjoying all the new growth.

If you have set out to achieve something new or great in 2024, we certainly hope you’re making progress. Even baby steps forward each day or each week bring us closer to our goals. When things feel daunting, just think about taking the next step in front of you. Before you know if, you’ll be miles down the road and you won’t believe how far you’ve come!!

Please be mindful of your friends and neighbors on Saturday. There are still a bunch of winter bugs going around, so if you are feeling under the weather at all, please wear a mask while you are inside the building. While we are mask optional right now, we do ask everyone to help minimize the spread of any winter illnesses. Thank you.
